
Our company started on the sidelines of fields and benches. As we spent our afternoons watching our three daughters playing sports over nearly 15 years, each with other children at home and jobs of our own, discussions of available time and healthy, great-tasting meals quickly prepared filled the spaces between goals and baskets. From this sharing of ideas and recipes, my culinary background and Louise’s experience with finicky eaters in the classroom led to the establishment of a small boutique spice company: Seattle Rhythm & Spice.
We took our new spices and blends to three, Seattle-area farmers markets. There, patrons from near and far enjoyed our Everything Rub, blended simply with cream cheese and spread on local sourdough bread or tortilla chips. Indeed, we were well-received! Within months more orders came from around the US.
